Chicago never leaves foodies with a shortage of brand new spots to check out, and this fall is no different. Here are just a few of the recently opened restaurants we have our eyes on:

Union Full Board
Wheelhouse Hotel
3475 N. Clark Street

Detroit-style pizza is very much “of the moment” right now, and that’s something we’re very much OK with. This location is also going to make it extra-convenient convenient to grab a slice after a Cubs game. This new joint has pizza classics like four cheese and pepperoni, but also delves into some bolder flavors like lamb sausage and Corktown BBQ chicken. Plus, it will be a perfect match with the soon-to-open speakeasy style cocktail lounge next door, Tinkers to Evers.

Omakase Takeya
819 W. Fulton Market
inside Ramen Takeya

Ready to take the next step in your sushi obsession? You have to be a true believer to make it into this 7 seat (you read that right) restaurant located inside the basement of an existing restaurant. If you’ve never heard the term before, omakase is a sushi joint where you sit at the countertop and get to interact with the chef, who prepares a menu just for you. Dinner is about 16 courses, and runs about $130 per person, which is pretty average for this kind of establishment.

Bar Ramone
441 N. Clark Street

This new tapas/pintxos bar from the Lettuce Entertain You folks brings some authentic Iberian fare to River North. Designed to encourage patrons to sample small plates of Spanish appetizers and wash them down with a wide selection of wines by the glass, it’s easy to see why this restaurant made it onto our list.
