With over 600 apps added to the Apple App Store per day, it can be difficult to stay on top of the latest and best. Here is our list of the 7 best apps for living in Chicago. Best of all, they’re all free!

1. Track the CTA: TransitStop

While numerous transit tracking apps exist, we favor TransitStop for its clean interface and excellent alert features.

2. Find Parking: SpotHero

Chicago’s own SpotHero solves a growing problem for city residents – finding short and long-term parking at affordable rates.

3. Get a Table: OpenTable

Keeping up with all the restaurant opening in the Windy City can be a challenge, but OpenTable makes the process of finding and keeping track of reservations a lot easier.

4. Food Delivery: GrubHub

If you don’t feel like going out, another Chicago-based company, GrubHub, will let you order in food without picking up the phone, and without needing cash (you can pay through the app).

5. Things to Do: MyCityWay Now

This app brands itself as being a city guide for non-tourists, and features 9 categories that are updated with the latest news, including shopping, attractions, and nightlife.

6. Things to Do #2: Chicago Festival Finder

Chicago is known for its ethnic diversity, which naturally results in a ton of cool festivals every year. This app will help you find out which ones are coming up that might interest you.

Though its interface isn’t the cleanest, this Chicago Tribune app still offers the latest city news, including news alerts for areas that might be relevant to you.
