The Best New Restaurants Opening in Chicago Fall 2016

Fall is a great time to get out and about in Chicago and try the new flavors the city’s best restaurants are offering. And with the holidays just around the corner, who wants to stay in and cook? Here are our picks for the best new restaurants in Chicago this fall.

The Flaming Rum Club on Wells and Ohio Streets will be more than just another Cuban restaurant. Think Cuba in its 1940’s and 50’s heyday along with a full-on dancing cabaret. The immersive experience will have a Cuban and Caribbean focus and as Cuban import restrictions have eased, they may have a few other surprises in store. Set to open “Fall 2016” the Flaming Rum Club is in the hiring phase and should open soon.

The health conscious will have at least two new options to choose from this fall. Bad Hunter opened October 19th with a veggie-centric seasonal menu. The restaurant is located in Restaurant Row on Randolph Street.

Also opening November 22 is True Food Kitchen on Erie Street. This casual chain was co-founded by Dr. Weil and features heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory menu items. True Food is family friendly, serving all day with brunch on the weekends.

Kibbitznest Books, Brews and Blarney, is just the kind of place you want to hang out with friends and have a deep conversation. Featuring books, brews and blarney, the menu is a selection of noshes to snack on. Wine and beer are also sold here. Wi-Fi, smartphones and computers are discouraged. The book bar opened October 6th in Lincoln Park and is a non-profit giving back to the community.

A few other places on our radar are Boar’s Head Café and Asian Cajun.
