Printer’s Row Lit Fest

June 6 – 7, 2015

Shop from 200 booksellers and attend 100 literary events and signings on the south end of Dearborn Street at the Printers Row Lit Fest, the largest free outdoor literary festival in the Midwest.

Color Run in Grant Park

June 7, 2015

Wear a white shirt, and then get bombarded by handfuls of colored cornstarch and glitter as you run the Color Run 5K at Butler Field in Grant Park.

Chicago Blues Festival

June 12 – 14, 2015

Chicago’s biggest music festival, Chicago Blues Festival, brings top-name talent to Grant Park. After the show, music continues late into the night at city clubs. Free.

Beer Tasting at the Zoo

June 13, 2015

Taste 20 samples of 75 beers, buy food, play lawn games, hear DJ music, and visit the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo during Brew to Be Wild for age 21+.

Ravinia Music Festival

June 13 – Sept. 12, 2015

Ravinia Festival is billed as America’s oldest outdoor music festival, with a long series of performances at Ravinia Park in Highland Park.

Taste of Randolph

June 19 – 21, 2015

The highly acclaimed Taste of Randolph Street [sound] offers six blocks of artisan and restaurant booths plus three music stages on W Randolph Street from Peoria St. to Racine Ave.

Millennium Park movies

June 23 – Aug. 25, 2015 (Tuesdays)

Get a seat or sit on the lawn to see films on a 40-foot screen at Millennium Park Summer Film Series. Free.

Fireworks party

July 4, 2015 (6:30 p.m.)

Get a perfect view of the Fourth of July fireworks from the rooftop of Navy Pier at Freedom Fest, which offers DJ music, BBQ for sale, and a cash bar.

Taste of Lakeview

July 11 – 12, 2015

July 17 – 19, 2015

Enjoy food from local restaurants, shop from local vendors, and hear live music at Taste of River North at Ward Park (Kingsbury & Erie).

Lollapalooza

July 31 – Aug. 2, 2015

Lollapalooza is a 3-day music festival with more than 100 popular alternative rock, punk rock, heavy metal, and hip hop bands; comedy and dance; and craft booths in Grant Park.
